Hi there and welcome to Jennifer Welton Counselling & Psychotherapy.
I hope that you can take the time to appreciate your decision to seek counselling. It is a brave move & one which I hope you find will pay off for years to come. It is important that you make sure to get the right counsellor for you.
With this in mind let me tell you a little about myself. I was awarded a diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy by PCI College followed by a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy validated by Middlesex University. I am a registered & accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (IACP) & registered with the British Association of Counselling Practioners.
I have been in private practice since 2014. I work with clients suffering depression & anxiety, relationship & sexual issues & problems with alcohol abuse. I also have experience working with suicidal clients & those with issues around self harm and suicide ideation within private practice & previously as a therapist for Pieta House in Dublin.
So how do I work? Depending on the client & the presenting issue I usually take an integrative approach. My training & theoretical background is humanistic and integrative psychotherapy incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) & Gestalt approaches to my work. The long & short of it is that I will tailor my approach to best suit your needs.
Combining my experience & expertise I look forward to working together to help you change or manage your life for the better.
